About Me

I’m a journalist and media professional with a rich background in storytelling and a passion for diverse cultural topics. I graduated from Rutgers University, where I majored in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Political Science. My writing journey has evolved significantly, and I am currently working as a freelance journalist.

During my time at Rutgers, I worked as a writer for their official student newspaper, The Daily Targum, where I wrote pop culture pieces. I then went on to intern for Princeton University's Office of the Dean for Research where I authored a two page feature article for their annual magazine, Discover and wrote several articles for their website on the ongoing research on campus.

Most recently, I reported for New Jersey Hills Media, contributing to their newspapers, Echoes-Sentinel and The Progress. My reporting experience covered a range of topics, and I enjoyed diving into the nuances of local news and community stories.

Beyond traditional journalism, I have a deep interest in music and culture. I hosted a radio show on WRSU called 'Siya’s Take,’ exploring Bollywood music and Indian culture, and I have a background in professional music. Since the age of 14, I have pursued music with dedication, spending two years in Mumbai and studying at the True School of Music. I have performed over 50 shows and had two tours across India.

As a writer, I am eager to continue providing meaningful narratives and contributing positively to society. My goal is to blend my passion for media, culture, and storytelling to create impactful and engaging content.
